Overview
This 13-day Egypt tour starts in Cairo, but we won’t stay in the city for long. After visiting the Pyramids of Giza and the Grand Egyptian Museum, we’ll head west into the desert, where the journey takes a different turn.
We’ll travel through Bahariya, Farafra, Dakhla, and Kharga in a 4x4, stopping along the way to explore the places that make each oasis different. You’ll visit the Golden Mummies, walk through old mudbrick villages, and see ancient temples and Roman fortresses. We’ll also spend a night in the White Desert, with dinner at our camp after a day on the desert tracks.
From Kharga, we’ll continue toward Luxor and change the pace again. You’ll board a 5-star Nile cruise, and we’ll spend the next few days visiting some of Egypt’s best-known ancient sites. We’ll walk through Luxor Temple, visit the tombs in the Valley of the Kings, and stop at Edfu, Kom Ombo, and Philae Temple as we make our way along the Nile toward Aswan.
By the time we return to Cairo, you’ll have seen a side of Egypt that goes well beyond its famous monuments. We’ll have crossed desert landscapes, visited small oasis communities, slept at a desert camp, and explored ancient sites along the Nile. It’s a trip for travelers who want to see more of Egypt and don’t mind a few long drives along the way.
Tour Plan
- Pickup: once you arrive at the airport. You will find our representative from Kemerya Tours waiting for you. to help you and take you to the hotel
- Hotel Check-in: while you arrive at the hotel. Take your welcome drink and stay back. Our representative will finish all the check-in procedures, and he will review your itinerary
- Your First Night in Egypt: Enjoy a peaceful night and get a good night’s rest. Tomorrow we will begin our adventure with one of the world's greatest wonders.

- Giza Pyramids: After breakfast, we’ll begin our journey with one of the world’s greatest wonders. the legendary Giza Pyramids to see King Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure. It was built from more than 4,500 years ago.
- Great Sphinx: Then we’ll see the Great Sphinx. Standing beside the Giza Pyramids. It’s a lion body with the face of a pharaoh. And it is considered one of the greatest symbols of ancient Egypt.
- Camel or Horse optional Ride: there’re any optional activities in Pyramids, you can choose between a horse ride or camel ride to start your adventure across the golden desert surrounding the Giza Pyramids and enjoy the spectacular panoramic views while exploring the quieter side of the Giza Plateau away from the crowds.
- Lunchtime: you’ll eat one of the most delicious Egyptian foods in Cairo, take a break, and enjoy your delicious lunch before continuing our journey.
- Grand Egyptian Museum: Next, we'll visit the Grand Egyptian Museum to explore its collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts, including treasures associated with Tutankhamun.
- Old Cairo: We'll continue to the historic part of the city to visit the Hanging Church, the Cavern Church, and the old synagogue, exploring the different religious traditions that have shaped Cairo.
- Khan El-Khalili Bazaar: We’ll finish our journey at Khan Elkhalili; take your time exploring the narrow alleys and browsing Egyptian souvenirs
- Return to your hotel: After a wonderful day exploring the cultural heart of Cairo, we’ll return to your hotel to relax after this amazing tour.
- Leaving Cairo: We’ll leave Cairo around 6:00 AM and head west toward Bahariya Oasis. It takes a few hours to get there, so you can settle in and watch the city gradually disappear behind us as we drive into the desert.
- The Golden Mummies: Once we reach Bahariya, we’ll visit the local museum to see the Golden Mummies and some of the finds connected to the area’s ancient burial sites. Your guide will help you understand why this oasis became an important place in ancient times.
- Lunch in the Oasis: Before heading back out into the desert, we’ll stop for lunch near the Temple of Mut. It’s a chance to sit down, eat, and take a break from the drive.
- Black Mountain: After lunch, we’ll switch to a 4x4 and make our way up Black Mountain. The terrain gets rougher as we climb, but that’s part of the experience. Once we reach the top, you can look out across Bahariya and the dark hills around it, especially as the sun begins to set.
- Around Bahariya: After breakfast, we’ll start the day around Bahariya’s salt lakes and palm groves. We’ll take some time here before continuing our drive toward Farafra.
- Crystal Mountain: On the way, we’ll stop at Crystal Mountain. You can walk around the rock formations and get a closer look at the quartz crystals scattered through the area. It’s a short stop, but worth taking your time over.
- Into the White Desert: From here, we’ll continue by 4x4 into White Desert National Park. As we drive farther in, the landscape changes, with pale rock formations appearing across the sand. We’ll make stops along the way so you can get out, walk around, and take photos.
- Dinner at Camp: Once we get to camp, we’ll have time to settle in while dinner is being prepared. We’ll eat together around the campfire, and then you can spend some time outside before turning in for the night.
- Farafra Hot Springs: We’ll leave the desert camp and head toward Farafra’s natural hot springs. If conditions allow, you can take a dip in the warm water before we continue with the day.
- Badr Museum: Next, we’ll visit Badr Museum, where you can see artwork inspired by life in the oasis. The collection gives you a different perspective on the area, beyond the desert scenery.
- Walking Through Al-Qasr: We’ll then make our way to Al-Qasr, an old mudbrick village with narrow lanes and traditional buildings. We’ll walk through the village together, taking a closer look at how the buildings fit into the local landscape.
- Deir el-Hagar Temple: Our next stop is Deir el-Hagar, an ancient sandstone temple with carved details that tell part of the story of this region. We’ll explore the site with our guide before continuing to our accommodation.
- Roman Forts: We head into the desert to visit Qasr El Labkha, a huge 5th-century Roman mudbrick fort sitting out in the open sand.
- Bagawat Chapels: We stop at Bagawat to look inside old mudbrick chapels filled with early Christian wall paintings.
- Dush Temple & Dunes: We’ll pass through Baris Oasis on our way to the Temple of Dush. After the visit, we’ll get back in the 4x4 and continue across the desert until we reach our campsite near the sand dunes. We’ll stop there for the night.
- Drive to the Nile: Leave the desert behind on a 6-hour drive over to Luxor.
- Nile Cruise: Once you arrive in Luxor, you’ll meet our team in Luxor to take you to board your Nile Cruise and check into your cabin & enjoy the peaceful atmosphere as your unforgettable journey along the Nile begins.
- Lunchtime: you’ll eat one of the most delicious Egyptian foods on board, take a break, and enjoy your delicious lunch before continuing our journey.
- Luxor Temple: After lunch, we will visit Luxor Temple to continue our discovery tour. It is one of the most elegant monuments in ancient Egypt. And Luxor Temple played an important role in royal ceremonies. and it later expanded by Ramses II
- Overnight: after this wonderful day, we’ll return to the cruise boat to enjoy your first night on board in Luxor.
- Breakfast on Board: Take your breakfast at morning while the cruise continues its journey along the Nile.
- Valley of the Kings: The first stop will be at the Valley of the Kings. This is the highlight of this historical place. In this place is buried Tutankhamun. and many of the greatest Egyptian pharaohs.
- Hatshepsut Temple: Then we’ll visit Hatshepsut Temple, which was built for Queen Hatshepsut. It reflects the remarkable legacy of Egypt’s most successful female pharouh.
- Colossi of Memnon: We will see the Colossi of Memnon before leaving the west bank of Luxor, which was built over more than 3000 years, and it is one of Luxor's most famous landmarks.
- Sailing Toward Edfu: After that you’ll return back to the Nile Cruise to continue sailing toward Edfu at night and enjoy your last night in Luxor.
- Breakfast: Take your breakfast on board before heading out to explore Edfu.
- Edfu Temple: After the breakfast, we’ll visit Edfu temple, it’s one of the most historical placed in Edfu, that has remained remarkably intact for more than 2,000 years, allowing you to admire its impressive gateways, detailed carving, and magnificent halls.
- Sailing to Kom Ombo: We’ll continue our journey at Kom Ombo
- Kom Ombo Temple: Once we arrived to Kom Ombo, we’ll visit Kom Ombo Temple that’s located on the banks of the Nile & it was dedicated to two gods Sobek, the crocodile god, and Horus the Elder.
- Sailing to Aswan: After that we will return back to the Nile Cruise to sail toward Aswan.
- Breakfast: Take your breakfast on board before heading out to explore Aswan.
- Aswan High Dam: the first stop in Aswan will be at Aswan High Dam, It’s one of Egypt’s greatest modern engineering achievements. It built to control the Nile’s annual floods and generate hydroelectric power.
- Philae Temple: Then we’ll take a motorboat to Agilkia Island to explore the beautifully preserved temple complex dedicated to Isis.
- Unfinished Obelisk: Then we’ll discover this massive ancient monument still attached to bedrock, offering insight into ancient Egyptian stone carving techniques.
- Return to the Cruise: After finish our journey in Aswan, we’ll return back to enjoy the rest of your time in Aswan.
- Breakfast on Board: We’ll start the day with breakfast on the cruise before checking out and collecting your luggage.
- Disembarkation: It’s time to say goodbye to the Nile and the ancient temples we’ve explored along the way.
- Overnight Train to Cairo: We’ll continue our journey back to Cairo by overnight train, giving you time to relax after the desert adventure and days spent exploring the Nile Valley.
- Arrival: We’ll meet you at Cairo Station and take you to your hotel.
- Free Time: After the train ride, you can take a break at the hotel or head out for a walk around Cairo. If you still have some shopping to do, this is a good chance to pick up a few souvenirs before heading home tomorrow.
- Breakfast at the hotel: Enjoy your final breakfast before checking out from the hotel. Take one last moment to reflect on the unforgettable memories you’ve created throughout our journey.
- Airport Transfer: At the scheduled time our representative will meet you at the hotel and transfer you to Cairo International Airport for your departure flight.
